Namu Home Studios is a local woodworking artist located in Nanaimo. He’s been making custom layered maps for about a year. Maps are of all the local communities on the island and across Canada, from Royston to Victoria, Tofino to Salt Spring, and from Vancouver to Fredericton, and everywhere in between. They’re in a variety of styles, using different wood species to bring out unique textures. Each map comes with a set of markers, allowing customers to highlight special places or occasions, and a special localized cover with a stylish write up about the city, which emphasized local attractions. He can also etch your logo and contact information on the back of each map, and all maps can be modified and customized.

“Hi, My name is Rylan, I’m a local teacher and I’ve always loved traveling and woodworking. I started creating these maps a few years ago to remind people of their travels and found that people from all over the world, especially here, love all parts of the island. I’ve really honed in on created a very unique product that highlights all major areas of the island and celebrates them individually.”
