“Hey, I’m Vanessa! Welcome to Olala! I create handmade pouches, beanies, and accessories inspired by nature and adventure.
Five years ago, I left France to travel across Canada, never imagining I would fall in love with Vancouver Island and make it my home.
This magical place changed everything! After working in digital marketing for nearly 10 years, I followed my passion and became a Naturalist on Vancouver Island, spending summers at sea observing whales and bears.
After splitting my time between Vancouver Island in the summers and the Yukon Territory in the winters, I now spend my summers in Telegraph Cove, surrounded by the wild beauty of the North Island. In the winter, I stay in the South of the island (warmer than the Yukon!), where I continue to create and focus on developing new prototypes and production.
Sewing has always been a love of mine, but I had set it aside during my travels in Canada… until last year, when I got my permanent residency and treated myself to a special gift: a sewing machine! That’s when Olala! was born, a way to express my creativity while staying true to my love for the outdoors. “
