Perhaps always a pyro at heart, Meghan picked up a woodburner in 2018 and started Honeybeezigns. Art has been a passion for her since childhood but something that she lost touch with in having her four small children. She noticed that she was really only engaging in creative endeavors for her children’s birthday parties and was needing a creative outlet to balance the other aspects of her life.

Starting off as a self-care practice, one in which she could retreat into her garage shop after her kids were in bed and enjoy the slow-pace of woodburning in silence, Honeybeezigns has grown into a small business that is regularly engaged to create commissioned pieces and that has been recently stocked in local stores. Meghan loves the process of working with customers to create personal and meaningful pieces and is dedicated to her customers loving the final product.

In addition to custom plaques and signs, Meghan also makes magnets, ornaments, home decor pieces, crib boards, and one of her most popular items – travel tic-tac-toe sets. She frequently combines watercolours, acrylic, blow torch, and other artistic mediums to create the perfect pieces for her customers. Most of the wood she uses for her projects is harvested from fallen trees off of her Oceanside property, or purchased from sustainable retailers and can come with the on-trend live-edge or have a more finished look.

Meet the Maker

Meghan is a mama of 4 small children, 6 goats, 14 chickens, 1 rooster, and a 90lb Ridgeback. Married to the best guy in the world for almost 14 years now, she and her family live on 2 1/2 acres in the Oceanside area. A Registered Clinical Counsellor during the day when she is not at home with her kiddos, Meghan also enjoys running, hiking in the bush, soccer, and is also a passionate musician.
